JON DUNMORE PRODUCER
Demos, Albums, Videos, Sketches.

A Producer is a facilitator. To put it bluntly: He makes shit happen. Watching my Demo Reel and other vids (on this page), you may wonder as to the Producer's role in all that media. The Producer is the person helming the project, ensuring all the people involved with the creation of that media are moving smoothly in the right direction. From arranging a song for a demo, or producing an album, to organizing a video shoot, as the producer I am sometimes performing many duties, such as director, music supervisor, editor, lighting, grip, and sometimes even towelboy.

Let's make it easy to understand: what do YOU need?

Some NO-JOB-TOO-SMALL clients:
• Single guitar on multiple tracks, burned to CDs, for artist to sell at his shows.
• tracking hip hop beat for artist to rap over, and track him rapping.
• tracking many character voices for an artist's voiceover demo reel.
• tracking lead vocals for artist to lay over existing video of a live gig.
• adding sound effects for indie cartoons
• creating an indie "cartoon" with frames/jpgs, adding foley and soundtrack
• transferring 4-track recordings (from cassettes!) to turn them into digital files.

The NO-JOB-TOO-SMALL bin:
• Are you a singer/songwriter who needs to record your demos?
• Are you a band with a limited budget who needs a demo tape? (Demo mp3.)
• Do you need to track just vocals or just guitars, with professional precision and effects?
• Do you need soundtrack ambience for your YouTube video?
• Do you need foley or sound effects for your sketch/ cartoon/ presentation?
• Have you got all your tracks/ideas tracked, but need assistance arranging them?
• Do you need tech assistance on turning your files into digital?

Some NO-JOB-TOO-LARGE clients:
• creating rock videos with synchronized sound
• producing albums in major studios (Paramount, Clearlake, Aire LA, Westlake, etc.)
• producing shorts for indie feature film (including casting, directing, lighting, scenery, costuming, etc.)
• Lighting Director on national and international tours (see below).

The NO-JOB-TOO-LARGE bin:
• Do you need to produce an album with a good budget in great facilities?
• Do you want to create a video for your song?
• SOLO ARTISTS: Do you need a full backing band (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, etc.) to record your music, and/or go on tour?

These are just a few suggestions on why you might need "production services." If you are in any doubt on how to progress your project, give me a call to consult, and I'm sure I can help!

JON DUNMORE DIRECTOR
A Producer's job is different with each project, and can sometimes change over the course of the project, but the Director's job, though all-encompassing as well, is always to Get The Shot.

In most of these videos (unless otherwise noted), I have acted in capacity of Producer and Director (assisted by Keith Barrows of O.A.F.). All shots were storyboarded, plotted and blocked, and everyone was shooed away from the pool tables at regular intervals...

STUDIO PRODUCER
Some artists imagine that a Producer's job is to stick his nose in and add unnecessary stuff to their masterwork -- but most of the time, it's the Producer's job to take stuff away.

As obvious as this sounds, a producer arranges your instruments to ensure that they're not all playing the same things at the same time and hogging all the same frequencies.

Think of the Producer as an Editor--ensuring the clarity and focus of your work reaches the masses.

So give me a call and let's make shit happen.

LIGHTING DIRECTOR
Technically, I was not a "producer" in this capacity, but this is the most appropriate section to list my stints as Lighting Director for midsize touring acts, like Nancy Sinatra and Celebrities Onstage, et al.

LIGHTING DIRECTOR
During my touring, I worked with parcan technology and a few moving lights, but I have not kept up with the state of the art of moving-light technology and computerized lightshows--so as long as it's a project under that bar, I can assist you.
